Compliance infrastructure for the next decade of finance.

on8 was founded in 2023 to make sanctions and PEP screening something an engineering team can integrate with one API key, and a compliance officer can still defend in an audit two years later.

Where we come from

on8.ai was incorporated in early 2023 by founders who had spent the previous decade building payments and compliance infrastructure, and watching customers stitch together six vendors to ship one onboarding flow.

The product started as a single sanctions screening endpoint. It is still a screening platform, deliberately: sanctions and PEP lists, adverse media, corporate ownership and physical addresses, with the evidence behind every hit. Everything else on our roadmap is labelled as roadmap.

We are a small team across the UK and Türkiye, obsessive about operability. If you ship financial software, we want to be the boring, reliable layer underneath it.

Mission

How we work

Four things we hold to, written down so you can hold us to them.

Compliance is engineering
Latency, audit trails, data residency and operability are the product. A screening result that arrives late or cannot be explained is not a result.
Evidence, not a verdict
Every hit carries the source record it came from and the date we first saw it, so a decision can be reconstructed months later by someone who was not in the room.
One thing, done properly
We would rather run screening well than run six products adequately. What is live is live, and what is on the roadmap is labelled as such.
Boring on purpose
The layer underneath financial software should be predictable. No surprises in the API, no surprises in the invoice, no surprises in an audit.

The people behind it, and the roles we are hiring for.
